Sawyer's Soldiers & Scholarship info

Our son Sawyer was diagnosed with autism at the age of two. We feel that everything happens for a reason and that God has a plan for everyone. We have taken Sawyer's diagnosis as a blessing and an opportunity to help educate the community and promote compassion and acceptance for all those touched by autism. Through this event, we are able to do all those things and also set up a not-for-profit scholarship foundation.

Each year, a scholarship will be awarded to a senior at Gardner Edgerton High School who has been diagnosed with a disability and, with much work and determination, is going to continue their education.

Scholarship eligibility consists of:
  • GEHS graduating senior
  • Attended GEHS 2 or more years including senior year
  • Must have a cognitive or developmental disability
  • Be in good standing with attendance and discipline
